IntegraGen will soon introduce the ARISk™ Familial Autism Panel, a genetic test which identifies the risk of autism in children who have older siblings diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder.
The ARISk Familial Autism Panel will be comprised of genes which have been shown to be associated with the development of autism. The test will be designed to allow for the early assessment of the likelihood of autism in children who are at a higher risk of being autistic.
The earlier identification of siblings who are at higher risk of being autistic allows physicians to potentially make an earlier diagnosis of autism. This earlier diagnosis permits the more timely initiation of interventions which have been shown to improve outcomes in children with autism.
