IntegraGen introduces the ARISk™ Autism Risk Assessment Test, a genetic test which identifies the risk of autism in children who have older siblings diagnosed with an autism spectrum disorder.
The ARISk Test is comprised of genes which have been shown to be associated with the development of autism. The test does not diagnose autism. The ARISk test is designed to allow for the early estimate of a sibling's risk of autism.
The earlier identification of siblings who are at higher risk for autism in combination with the presence of symptoms of autism and the use of other autism evaluation tools allows physicians to potentially make an earlier diagnosis of autism. This earlier diagnosis permits the more timely initiation of interventions which have been shown to improve outcomes in children with autism.
